For volunteers who want to stay in a typical Isan village by the Mekong River!
Age 5 – 18 years old. In NongKhai Province, Northeast Thailand, Isan.
Hoh Kam is a charming village on the bank of the Mekong River with a stunning view of the beautiful Lao mountains on the other side. Volunteers teach English and sometimes computers (depending on skills), and also help to train teachers in speaking English. The village wants to attract tourists so many local people are motivated to learn English too.
The village offers a great place to live with local people in a fabulous setting by the river. Volunteers have even left their own paintings to prove this fact! Apart from the beautiful scenery it is one of the places where the famous Naga fireballs can be seen in October, an amazing sight!
