The different Volunteer Overseas and Cross Culture Training to work abroad in Thailand

Training for volunteer work abroad in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos
Volunteer Judith from the UK: ‘‘I was advised to go on the 3-day training program. To be honest, I did not want to go. Why would I want to travel from Bangkok to North Thailand when my placement was in the south? The course was a baptism of fire. We were expected to learn some useful phrases, introduce ourselves to Thai people, and lastly, teach a short lesson to novice monks at a temple school! The staffs are dedicated to their projects and managed to work us hard while still having a lot of fun. In the end, I was well-impressed. Thank you Openmind Projects. You deserve your success!'’

A ‘global mindset’, an open mind, is what you need to be successful in a global world. It means capable of adjusting to different environments and to have the ability to work effectively with international colleagues. This ‘global mindset’ depends on intellectual, psychological, as well as social skills factors. Without a global mindset, it is very difficult to deal with cultural difference, international and unexpected situations. What is so special about our volunteer work abroad training in Thailand?
During our volunteer overseas training, we'll discuss Southeast Asian culture, language, dress, and social codes together with local people! You will be immersed in the local culture on the very first day by interacting and meeting with the people you will work with. Our learning philosophy for local students is activity based "learning by doing" and that is exactly how our volunteer overseas training program at Openmind Projects is designed. This volunteer training is a must for volunteers to ensure a fun and successful stay. It is highly recommended by past volunteers and also by local authorities, schools, national parks.Volunteer Anita from Australia: ‘‘I initially was not keen on doing the 3-day training in NongKhai. Thank goodness I did because it was here that occurred to me on what an amazing experience this trip was going to be. We were also given the tasks of applying our new learned Thai language at the local food shops and markets. These experiences proved to be invaluable. All of the information we all received was both incredibly interesting, motivational and very useful.’’
