Openmindprojects started as an IT and e learning development project

in Northeast Thailand in 2001, to test E-Learning conditions and opportunities to bridge the so called digital divided between privileged children in the West and poor and isolated children in villages, see www.itinisan.org and the Asian Institute of Technology Newsletter.

Whilst we arrange for an increasing number of international volunteers to do volunteer work, teach together with local teachers In Thailand and Laos, we are not a volunteer agency in the traditional sense but rather a combination of a development, aid and volunteer organization. We are not a charity but rather totally independent of governments, political parties, religious organizations or corporations. Initially we funded our projects with our own private means and today our only source of funding of work, volunteer expenses and school projects is through volunteer fees.
