Openmind Projects offers low cost, affordable and value for the money volunteering work abroad.  Why pay $60-90/€50-75 per day—the rates many European and US travel and volunteer organizations charge—when you can pay $22/€17 per day with Openmind Projects in Thailand for a two month period?

With Openmind Projects your entire fee goes towards supporting our grassroots projects in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Nepal as well as our overseas volunteers, not to any administration, office, promotion or other costs elsewhere.

$22/€17 EUR is about 680 Thai baht.  On your own a room in a guesthouse in Thailand would cost you 400-700 baht per day and wouldn't include a volunteer placement/project, meals, volunteer support, handbooks or training!

• Teach English in a village by the legendary Mekong River.  In this small village located on the bank of the Mekong River our volunteers work in the local kindergarten and school.  Since it caters to the poorest families in the area this is a place where our volunteers can make a big difference!

• Volunteer at our Training Center in NongKhai, Thailand.  Situated in Nong Khai, in northeastern Thailand, Isan, our Training Center is the heart of Openmind Projects.  Here we train both our trainees and new volunteers.  And they in turn teach each other about their respective cultures and languages.  Read also about our popular Volunteer Training.

  Community Based Ecotourism and Conservation in Laos.  Amazing opportunity for the volunteer interested in nature, trekking, and photography to work in an eco project in Laos.  Teach English to children. Teach while working alongside local village guides.  One of several eco volunteer opportunities.

• Teach English at a Buddhist Temple.  This well known temple school trains young novices in basic subjects as well as Buddhist teachings.  This is one of our placements for volunteers that are interested in learning about Buddhism and temple life while teaching English to novices.  One of many teach English volunteer placements in Thailand.

• Teach English on an island in South Thailand.  This charming island is just a short boat ride from popular Krabi town, where Openmind Projects has a Volunteer House for our overseas volunteers, but is a world away from tourist Thailand.  Perfect if you want to experience island and fishing village life. while still living in Krabi.

• Volunteer in an Orphanage in Nepal.  Assist the staff providing for the children and teach at the nearby Creation School. This small orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal, houses about ten orphan children at any given time. One of the Child and Health Care projects we support.

• Coral Reef and Turtle Conservation in Thailand.  Openmind Projects volunteers assist with surveys of the coral reefs in the Andaman Sea.  Qualified volunteers may dive and document their findings, others may teach English.  Highly recommended for those that are passionate about marine wildlife and avid divers.  One of many eco volunteer options.

• Health Care and volunteer work with children in Thailand.  A small community hospital in northeast Thailand treating villagers with minor health problems.  Depending on your experience you can assist the staff directly during their work or help them improve their English.  One of several Health Care options in Southeast Asia.
