Openmindprojects international volunteers comments
"Saying that I spent time alone in villages, living with very poor farmers, sounds more like a punishment, than a learning experience. The truth is that I learned more about management here than managing a company!"
Massi from Italy
"Getting in touch with the local people, experiencing their life style, working with enthusiastic and clever kids, enjoying nature and food, ... I would do it again in a heartbeat!"
Nathalie from Belgium
"How lucky I was to have the chance to see the real Thailand, a lot of travelers don't get past the tourist bit. So while I know how loving and friendly the Thais can be, they find it hard to see past the "hello mister"!"
Stu from England
"You are flexible and like kids. Curious about cultures, want to bridge the digital divide, and looking for a challenge!"
Rick from United states
"Thailand is about giving up and giving in! When you are convinced that you can do no more, go no further, you go on! This is only possible because Thailand catches you when you fall down, because it is insane and it is perfect!"
Rachel from Canada
"Come to teach with love, the language's barrier will grow blurred and you will get motivated and clever children who want to learn efficiently and quickly!"
Diego from Belgium
"We really feel that volunteering for Openmindprojects is a win-win situation for all involved, for the students, Thai teachers, OMP, and also, definitely, for the volunteers. Our family learned a lot during our stay and we made a lot of new friends. Even though we worked quite hard, we got a lot out of our time in Isan."
Juerg, Sallie, Karol and Merial Boschung from Canada
"On behalf of the team here at UNV?s Online Volunteering service I would like to thank you for your message. The information about the activities and initiatives your NGO is involved in really makes a difference to those who, like me, are sitting at a computer. "
Christopher UN Volunteers from Germany
"Read with great interest about the work you are doing after the Tsunami. I wish you all lots of luck with the fantastic work you are doing.

Louise from United kingdom
"Volunteering for OpenmindProjects was a big step for me.
I was 51 years old, travelling alone and had never travelled outside of the West. Life was comfortable at home in Toronto, Canada.
I have always volunteered in many different ways. It seemed now was a good time to try volunteering in the developing world. I knew all the skills I had accumulated over the past 30 years would be put to good use. And they were. I have taught for many years but I have never enjoyed an assignment more nor learned so much.
Experiencing firsthand the challenges of teaching in Thailand made me think about how much harder it would be for young volunteers without experience. One of my former jobs involved writing information pamphlets and instruction manuals. Why not write a handbook for volunteers about teaching in Thailand? So I did. I hope it helps future volunteers prepare for this wonderful experience and gives them some tools for handling the challenges. Hopefully, each and every one of them will enjoy the experience as much as I did.
"
